Crystal Gel Water Beads are new to me. I’d
never seen or heard of them prior to receiving this set. There are 24 packets,
in 6 different colors, and they take several hours to fully expand.
These
unique growing beads would be a fun activity for children, (they are non-toxic)
but I am using them as decorative accents to my household plants and cut
flowers. Their interesting shape and color make the pot or vase more
interesting and colorful. They’ll add a nice decorative effect to my holiday
tabletop decorations as well.
I
placed one complete packet in a glass and added 2 cups of tap water. It
took
a few minutes for the gel beads to begin growing, and after half and hour, the beads
were larger than pea size. (see photos.)
A
neat perk is that when the beads lose their plumpness you can just add more
water to return them to their full size—for up to two years. Though I
was given a discounted price to test these water beads, I was not
influenced or required to give a positive review.
